Day 1

Day 1 – Immediately After Your Herbal Peel Following your Herbal Peel treatment, it’s normal for the skin to feel tight, sensitive, prickly, and appear red. This is a natural reaction as the herbs begin working beneath the surface to stimulate cell renewal. To allow the peel to work effectively: Do not wash, touch, or rub the treated area. Avoid applying any products—this includes makeup, skincare, creams, lotions, or ointments. Keeping the skin dry is essential, as adding moisture too early can interfere with the peeling process. Some mild discomfort, sensitivity, or itching is expected due to the active herbal ingredients. This is part of the normal healing response. However, if you experience any unusual or extreme symptoms, please contact your practitioner. Pro Tip: For relief from stinging or itching, you may take over-the-counter pain relief or an antihistamine tablet to ease discomfort.

Day 2

By Day 2, your skin will likely start to feel dry, tight, and flaky. You may also notice the skin appearing a few shades darker—this is completely normal. It’s simply the outer layer preparing to shed, revealing fresh new skin underneath. What to do: In the morning and evening, gently apply a non-acidic toner to the skin. Follow with a broad-spectrum SPF to protect the skin. Avoid all other products, including moisturisers and actives, unless specifically advised. Continue this simple routine for the full 7-day downtime period to support proper healing and achieve the best results.

Day 3-5

This is typically when visible peeling starts—often around the mouth and chin first, where facial movement is most frequent. Over the next couple of days, peeling will gradually extend to other areas like the cheeks and forehead. Important: Do not rub, pick, or pull at the peeling skin—this can damage the delicate new skin underneath and increase the risk of hyperpigmentation. Let the peeling happen naturally for the best results. Pro Tip: If needed, you may gently trim loose skin with clean, small nail scissors—but never pull at it. Remember: Peeling is just a side effect, not an indicator of how successful the treatment is. Even minimal peeling can still lead to excellent results.

Day 7 onwards

By this stage, most of the peeling process is complete. However, some mild flaking, sloughing, or redness may still be visible in certain areas—this is normal and part of the skin’s natural renewal. You may now resume your regular skincare routine, unless your practitioner has advised otherwise. If you experience any lingering sensitivity or irritation, give your skin a little more time before reintroducing active products. To maintain and enhance your results, we strongly recommend completing the full course of treatments as advised by your practitioner. Most clients benefit from 3 to 6 sessions for optimal, long-lasting results. Ongoing Care: Continue to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily to protect your new skin. Stay consistent with a gentle, supportive skincare routine. Please Note: Results may vary from person to person based on skin type and concern. While the average downtime is around 7 days, some may experience shorter or longer recovery periods.
